We are all connected

This year, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) celebrates its 50th birthday. Therefore it has published the video "We are all connected" showing obvious similarities between animal and man. The video is shown also in commercial breaks in television. via denkfabriq [1] [1] http://www.denkfabriq.de/index.php/video/50-jahre-wwf/

Incredible Stunts

This video is a complilation of awesome people doing incredible things. Wow! Mankind is powerful.

Frozen Grand Central

A train station. A symbol of movement. Everybody is going somewhere or coming from somewhere. People walking, hurrying... Suddenly, everybody stops what he was doing and freezes at the exact same moment. What would you think? Acting class? Some kind of protest? Some kind of supernatural thing going on? The theater and improvisation group IMPROVEVERYWHERE [1] is just amazing in organizing events like that. They had 207 (!) undercover agents that froze in place at New York's Grand Central Station - and people wondering what was going on. IMPROVEVERYWHERE has a long history of great flashmob and creative events! Come to Europe and we will participate! :-) [1] http://improveverywhere.com/

Making Movies

In this absolutely outstanding video Stargate Studios [1] show us a collection of their skills. It is amazing to see how much of a movie is actually made in a studio and is reworked digitally. There is a "green screen [2]" for everything! By the way, Stargate Studios is specialized in those virtual backlots and visual effects - and they are true masters of their craft. Now lean back and enjoy the video! [1] http://www.stargatestudios.net [2] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_key

What is speed?

Speed is relative. How does speed feel? Going 270 km/h on the Autobahn might give you an answer to that question. Going down a hill by bike could also give you enough excitememt to know how speed feels. But what is it like to race down a mountain on your longboard, going faster and faster, feeling the wind in your face, struggling with gravity and centrifugal forces? Most of us do not know. Watching a video cannot substitute the "real thing", but this film by Ari Marcopoulos is definitely close to an own experience - at least visually. Dan Meyer’s Annual Statistic 2009

At the end of each year you often look back at it and think of the highlights, happy moments, sad moments, changes that might have come. Dan Meyer [1] deals with that in a much more pragmatic way. He did an animation of his 2009's statistics - very nice! Nice to know: The video takes two and a half minutes. Making that video took quite a while, as you can imagine. 2.4 days per second of the video, to be precise. Bespla / For Free

This great video was brought to us by Marko Butrakovic [1] from Zagreb/Croatia. He is not only multi-interested but also multi-talented! In his 13 years of work he worked as a construction worker, farm boy, bar tender, truck driver, web designer, photographer, ENG cameraman, editor, producer and director. We are thankful that he did stick to the media and movie biz, so we can watch more of his work. By the way, this whole video has been shot on a Canon 5D Mark II. Originally, this is a camera for photography, but it can also shoot videos in Full HD - the quality is really amazing. [1] http://www.vimeo.com/butrakovic
