Jeroen Houben is a young filmmaker from Amsterdam/Netherlands. Born in 1987 he is currently studying Audiovisual Design in Rotterdam. He as already made some short films and has a pretty fancy website, too. The film “page 23″ has been made during the 48 hour film project in Utrecht in 2011, together with Tim Arts and Stefan van den Boogaard.
The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours.
On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week.
In 2010, nearly 40,000 filmmakers made 3,000 films in 80 cities on five continents. This year, we’re even bigger, with filmmakers around the world taking the challenge to make a film in just 48 hours.
- The 48 Hour Film Festival
Pagina 23, the original title of this short film, has been written and directed based on the line: “Amazingly beautiful, yet hoplessly impractical.”
It is not surprising that this outstanding movie won the jury prize as best film, the prize for best editing and the audience award. The people at the 48 Hour Film Festival in Utrecht loved this film and so do we!
